beaujolais nouveau :

Charnay, October 11th, 2006

After a marathon tasting of nearly 300 samples starting
on October 7th, we have now completed our selection
of Beaujolais Nouveau wines.

The early autumn landscapes were superb,
but we had no time for tourism.

As we travelled from wine estate to wine estate,
we worked to stringent, rigorously applied selection criteria.

Our high standards are your quality guarantee!
You have placed your trust in us for many years,
and we have no right to disappoint you.

Mâcon Villages Primeur 2006 (white):

This is a premiere for Trenel. No allowance for error here. We wanted a wine of airy lightness. This one is vibrantly fresh with strongly floral notes and an agreeable palate,
a marvellous way to start off a meal. We’ll be drinking
it with a seafood platter.

Beaujolais Nouveau 2006 :

A deliciously pleasant wine with the colour of raspberry. With its impulsiveness and its vivacious character, this will appeal to anybody who loves light, easy-to-drink wines.

Beaujolais Villages Nouveau 2006 :
A powerful, deep-coloured, vinous wine with fat tears, though still unmistakably a primeur. While more delicate than the heavyweight 2005 vintage, this wine has real character, and its fruity notes of blackcurrant and raspberry will delight the keenest palates.
